Friday morning my wife suggested that we go out for the day on the boat as the weather was so good.

Fuelled up and popped over to Boulogne in glorious weather (one hour fifteen minutes) where we had an al fresco lunch after visiting the local shops, doze in the afternoon, walk up into the old town for dinner.

On Saturday we walked round the market, had lunch, then set off home as we had a dinner engagement. A bit lumpy on the way back (1 Hour 40 minutes) but a great impromptu couple of days.

Back home by 1700.

Sounds perfect! We had a similar weekend but Bristol to Cardiff - 3 hours each way.
We went the long way, Weston Super Mare, Brean Down and around the Holms (Our own Channel Islands!)
Perfect weather, perfect sea-state - long may it continue!

Yes Tom, sounds just right. Do you book a berth prior to departure, or just take pot luck on availability?

Mr. Sneddon....I noticed your boat is called 'Bush Baby', was that your descision, referring to her place of berth, or outside influences?

Just take pot luck - there are usually plenty of visitors berths in Boulogne, except perhaps in the high season.
