If you are really serious contact General Marine & Navigation somewhere in the East End. Pete Duggan the owner has loads of stuff laying around, perhaps he has something.

NO NO PLEASE NO .
It's got to be a proper tug or trawler .
Blooming typical the fella that brought it sold a 60ft tug and started looking for a small one !!!, and it was local to ho hum.
I'l have to see about that firm in the east end but the hours I've already spent on the net looking have not realy turned up much so far.

Cheers

There is a big old trawler in Fleetwood fishing harbour that caught on fire about a month ago. The fire brigade got there pritty quick and there doesn't seem to be an excessive amount of damage but the superstructure is a bit out of shape. She must be seventy foot at least. It looks like they are scrapping her but it didn't look like there was that much damage to me. Maybe worth a look but not something I would want to take on.

I think that ex-Swedish navy minesweeper is still for sale at boatshedwales.co.uk ... now there's a project... alternatively, there is a big ex North Sea supply ship in Exeter called Harlech that maybe for sale according to local rumour. Try asking the canal office to put you in touch.

good luck

Mick,

Cheerrs for the help, moved the belt two notches and seems ok now, bit of white smoke but still needs a good run, starts much better.

This boat you want, does it have to be steel? there is a big wooden boat at the yard where I am, It was for sale about 5 years ago and has not been in the water since, 'bout 65 foot, got a dog house and a big deck saloon, pair of gardners lying in the yard next to it, long and narrow, called 'Thame', its timber and needs quite alot of woprk although the hull looks ok, I could make enquiries, see if its still for sale, maybe get ya a digi photo.

For sale, 1970 Triumph Spitfire-sold, 1947 Lambretta, 1922 Great grandmother, PM for details.

Hey that's good re your engine .

The trawler well it's to big , I have to be a little sensible now and then.
There's a 61 ft which is in the water and has a Cummings 300hp but I'm resisting it at the mo, but I like it !!!!!!!!! oh and the price is not good but getting better.
I had another look at a 40ft cockle boat it's wood but flat bottom !!! so I'm wary re rough weather , but the price means even if I payed some one else to do the important stuff re odd plank's and below water line corking ,I'd still be ahead of the game .
There's a 40 ft ex trawler which is in very good order even the inside of the hull below deck's is clean .They started at 12k but got to 8k I recon 6k is the right price .
There's a 48 ft tug in Glasgow .
The steering is up the shoot and as it's a von schieder type could be very very expensive .From what the chap said the actual hull is fine , the Gardner has minor bits and bob's . I like the idea of this one cos it's the sort of thing I can really get into but I cant go stupid re dosh , so unless I get it transported down here by lorry ( properly 2k ?? ) it's to much to far as they wont drop the price .
It's very much a buyers market so onwards upwards
Cheers

Bloomin eck Mick!

No wonder you do them up as a hobby if you can get a 40' trawler for that price.

The idea of taking on a project like that would scare the cr*p out of me though. Far too much work.
