The amount of forums dont help, maybe theres something interesting on the Thames or Bristol Chanel forums, from time to time, but I would not know.

The meet up forums worked for a while. But not now, hardly anyone looks down there.

Most of the forums want closing, get back to three or four, else every wheres going to get so slow and boring that the whole lot collapses

Yep, hlb I think thats the issue. I looked at Thames yesterday to see if I was missing the action - alas good posts but limited in number- one screen had a months load...

At least before you had a huge choice of what to follow, in one place, and the e mail alert, as Deleted User pointed out, allowed you to follow your interest blow by blow.

Definitely not what it used to be. When I first poked my nose in it was a laugh and could be very informative. Now nothing much changes from day to day and a number of the more prominent characters have disappeared. I think the introduction of the Lounge was the start of the decline.

Slow... not really ... boring ... probably as a result of economic climate, time of year etc...

But at least the search function works now, so you can find the old "fun" bit...

Don't use email notifications myself, sort of defeats the advantages of a web bb. Agree, people probably more focused on work these days so less activity on social networking sites such as this. The quality of content hasn't been great at times, perhaps too many "look at me" type of posts.

All in all there are some pretty interesting and useful threads on here though, once one is prepared to wade through the junk.
