For gods sake lets shake this forum out of its apathy. In an effort to start something controversial I will act the Troll and start a subject to get you all going.

What about this.... Any NBs caught without a licence and those who are leeching off the State have their NB confiscated. The boat is then broken up and the scrap iron is sold to the Chinese. The owners are put into re-education work camps and any children are put up for adoption.

Of course the above might seem somewhat mild and others would want something harsher.
I am however a bit of a liberal.

Shaking the forum out of its apathy might be a laudable endeavour, but doing it by stirring up yet another anti NB thread is really not worthy of you.

In any case, I'm not at all sure that apathy is the problem. Its mid summer, the kids are on holiday, and anyone with a boat is probably trying to spend as much time on it as possible.

I have just got back from two weeks up and down to Abingdon, had vey few problems other than there not being enough wtaer in the river. Even Tescos at Reading had plenty of space both going up and coming back down. Met a few narrow boaters - all very pleasant and friendly although one or two could do with learning the niceties of being on the Thames. But then, several cruiser owners need to do that as well !

how about making it legal to ram at will the small hire boats that pay no regard for other users on the river i.e typically the ones around windsor that cut across you at will when they please....

Only between Runnymede and Windsor, on Weekdays.

Magna Carta: Chapter IV, subsection XII.

'Thou shalt ram any vessel deemed to contain Plebs between Runnymede and Windsor, excepting Weekends but including Bank Holidays, unless Chelsea are playing at home'

I trust that matter is cleared up.... :)

Problem is at the moment, there are more of them than there are of us!!! (At least there are outside my window)

How about a campaign for more EA water points and perhaps we would have a fighting chance of actually getting on one that way!!!

I had hoped with the RTA that we would get water points at EVERY lock?

Oh goody its raining again!!
