Remember "The Basic Boat Ins. Co." they gave 3rd party cover for reasonble prices.I know they went out of business but does anyone else provide cover at realistic prices. My current cover is comprehensive with all the usual caveats its too restrictve. I live by the marina and would like to sail in the winter on pleasant days. Sitting on the hard drinking coffee 6ft above the concrete does nothing for me on a pleasant sunny Autum day. I just need Marina cover. Current Ins. Co. not interested in Marina only. They even insist on boat out og the water for winter months.

I'm with GJW - in commission all year.

The only thing they insist on is a pontoon berth in winter (Nov-Mar).
We're on a swinging mooring the rest of the year.

I've found their rates very reasonable & the one claim I made was dealt with in two weeks.

No connection, just satisfied customer

I know the feeling, and often go out for a winter afternoon sail from the marina - have had some good sailing over christmas / new year the last two years. Try Yachmaster Insurance, they even let me go singlehanded for passages of up to 18 hours without extra cost. Price seems reasonable on my fully comp insurance.

No commercial connection etc . . .

Just checked the net then phoned them and they are still in business since 10 years already. Be still my beating heart! Don't scare me like that. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
