A friend of ours left his little boat for an hour on the beach at Southend while he went up into the town and when he came back his mainsail was gone having been cut away and stolen during his absence: even the sacred feeling about stealing a vessel's necessary gear being dead among the loafers of those parts.

I am currently reading cracking little book about East Coast sailing

"Swin, Swale and Swatchway" from Lodestar books

bloomin treat for any East Coaster

FB some yobbos have nicked my dinghy and I can't get ashore.
CG do you need assistance?
FB Yes, can you contact the foreshore bailiff or police to get my dinghy back.
Cg where is the boat now?
Fb they are rowing it towards the pier.
Cg are they wearing lifejackets and are they in danger.
Fb danger? I'll say they are, just as soon as I get my hands on the scrotes!
Cg we are contacting the police now.
