Miniskip and I went down to our mooring only to find that some scumbags have tried to nick our Binliner ( bayliner ) ok its not that grand compared to some but its worth approx 5k and I worked bl""dy hard to get it not only this it give me and my family unsurpassed enjoyment here on the thames

they had cut the bow padlock lowered the stern drive and removed the engine cover

we always disable the ign electrics etc so it is nt easy to take

thing is is I have worked hard for what I have I am not rich so what is the point when some low life scum tries to take what is precious from you and will often succeed

RANT over !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to hear this.

I think the point of having the boat is that you enjoy it.

I remember coming out of the local swimming pool with my then 6 year old lad to see my car had been broken into. Now that particular vehicle had a removable radio and must have been broken into about three or four times but it was the first time any of the children had seen it happen. The worst bit was my son saying "Dad, why is the window broken on your car?" He's 16 now and would probably sit down on the broken glass without noticing or say it was my fault for owning a car.

probably pay for it

by being sent to jail, so more of our taxes go to keep the scroats, maybe we should bring back some capital punishment, that should keep the jails empty, or cut off their hands, they can only do nick things twice then..

its about time we started have zero tolerance towards these people..

sorry to hear about your boat...

One reply struck a poingnant note

Miniskip alias my 14 year old son was quite tearful he asked why should people do this

All I could say is that it happens and we cant do much about it

but hey ho it doesnt make you feel better does it

we also recently had 2 jerry cans nicked at 25 squids a pop

I spoke to the scouts ( its their land and asked them to repair the fence but nothing has happened so ................

This sunday me and miniskip are going to do the repair ourselves and with a copious amount of copperslip on the top of the fences to boot

its the old addage if its worth doing etc

HI Sorry to hear about your misfortune.... However,,, here on the ISle of Man up the mid 50's we had the BIRCH... in those far off days the courts were in the old Castle and the police station is right opposite. In those wonderful days,,,Guilty, 6 of the best,,,,, the offender was then marched to the police station and given 6 well laid on by a beefy copper. those who suffered this never did it again,,,,,Then some stupid MOTHER objected to her DARLING having such barbarous treatment,,, it ended up at the Hague ,,and since then no more birch, and guess what,,,,, crime went up and up. So bring it back I say,,,,, in public too if possible. shame the [--word removed--].. in fact the stocks might make a welcome return I think ....
Talk about a namby pamby land...
OOOPS..... better stop there,,,,,

I agree. Sorry to hear your news Chuckaduck, but glad they didn't manage to take your boat. Flog'em and to heck with the liberal do gooders who live in a bubble of isolation from the real world.

Try afew strategicly placed razor blades too--if they intend to steal they deserve to lose their fingers--before being hung drawn and quartered of course.
Bloody low life scum! Dont let em win though--enjoy your well earned pride and joy and as previous poster said--they will get their come uppance

If you want to make up a good anti-burglar paint, try to get hold of some Fox Oil from a farm supplier and mix it in with grease.

Foxoil is a creosote derivative which smells really really disgusting, which is why it is put on lamb's necks when you let them out for the first time.

It has the useful habit of tasting as bad a s it smells, and sticking to skin and clothing like sh*t to a wool blanket.

sorry to hear - they cut the sonar cables to create lengths of wire to hot wire Phaeton a few years ago, then smashed the control panel to get at the ignition bolt, then destroyed that before finally giving up (as the batteries were isolated..........) It's not a great feeling.

truast you resolve things and it just ends up as a financial cost.

Yes hung drawn and quartered would be ok!, I disturbed 5 East Europeans, at 3a.m., trying to cut a mates boat loose a few months ago in Waterford Ireland, after they had already broken into 15 boats that night . The Guardi and I nabbed them, 3 were charged. The likly outcome is, they will dissapear or if found guilty get community service. Some Feckin Justice. HD&Q, I Say.

Sorry to hear that Chucka, hope any repairs are none too time consuming. I get your point about your son's incomprehension, mine could not understand why someone would steal our rib.

You must be able to get some razortape from somewhere:)

maybe we should all be more proactive and security conscious - it seems odd that cars have alarms, proper doorlocks and immobilisers but most boats are easy targets. Maybe we all need to be more vigilent etc
