Thievin\' scrotes strike again!

Having just filled in the forms for a break-in on the boat, Mrs_E informs me that some toerags have jemmyed the locks off some outbuildings and made away with an outboard, bike (2 weeks old after previous one had been nicked!), strimmer, more fishing tackle and a load of other stuff.

Plus the gits have put a brick through a window of my just-returned-from-rebuild, Landrover /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I think you ought to move to a nicer area.

Ah! Just thought of a problem, no would want to buy a house in an area with such a high crime rate.

(sorry to hear this Chris, I suppose the Police have a team on it? Not!)

Re: Thievin\' scrotes strike again!

And I thought all the louts lived over here at New Milton !
Hard luck - it's really beyond a joke.
One thing I'm grateful for about the Beaulieu River is that the Harbour Master does keep a very watchful eye on things and brek-ins are relatively rare.
Still - we ought to get something for the price, I suppose.
Trust you get some recompense.

Re: Thievin\' scrotes strike again!

Yep, I reckon they did an awayday!

Thankfully it's all insured but bang goes any thoughts of NCB on house, boat and car insurance next year.

Still looking on the bright side, the previous scrotes missed my handheld chartplotter which was the most expensive thing on the boat. Small mercies.

Its winter boat jumble time . A boat in our yard had its life raft nicked the other night.

Interestingly, they left the liferaft!

I was broken into in Langstone Harbour over Easter. They took all my electronics and safety gear with the exception of the liferaft and EPIRB. They even took a 5 year old lifejacket and out of date flares.
I think they left the liferaft because it was too heavy. And I don't know if they realise EPIRB's are registered or they missed it - but it is just inside the companionway and hard not to see as you enter and leave.

Re: Thievin\' scrotes strike again!

a couple of these filled with paintballs and a lesser charge might do the trick.

Actually, wasn't there a paintbomb you could buy at one point for just these type of incidents?

Re: Thievin\' scrotes strike again!

or perhaps one of these might be more legal.

PROTECT manufacture, distribute and install Smoke Security devices that produce a high volume of smoke that obliterates a thief's vision in less than 30 seconds. The smoke is actually a dry smoke and harmless to humans, animals and electrical equipment.
PROTECT is proven at stopping losses from break-ins and it integrates easily with existing intruder alarm systems. Protects competitive smoke security product is supplied to alarm installers making it now affordable to the customer, whilst also looking stylish and being easy to install.

Re: Thievin\' scrotes strike again!

I think Blockbusters have something similar - a friend was driving past one Saturday morning and the place looked as if it was on fire, stuck his nose in and was informed it was their anti-scrote alarm.

No doubt some scumbag lawer will make a fortune defending these scrotes when they come to court and the smoke will be banned and being against the criminals "rights"

You should keep a small engine block and a pair of handcuffs on board. Handcuff the miscreant to the block and throw them both off the side, providing you are moored in moret han 8'0" water. [Thats what many of us would like to do]

Isn't boarding a boat and stealing etc "Piracy"?????
