How desirable are our burgees??

bought it from Hayden in feb or march this year, and some scroat has stolen it, didn't bother to untie the knots mind, just cut the cord and left me with the cord still tied to the stall,

Hayden are you back home yet? can you sew with wire? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Have you not heard?

HLB has a number of 'operatives' in all boating areas of the UK. they steal them off forumites' boats, send them back to him and he attaches a new cord and charges you 14 squid for the privilege of selling it back to you /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

In Wales the 'operative' is Kwacka, but his hat usually gives him away.

Whilst we're on the subject. A guy last week, said he wanted a burgee, but could not be bothered getting a stamp and envelope and saying it would be much better if I provided them IE. Plus post and packing, oh and pay on line as well. Well yep it might be easier for you lot, but a fag for me.

In any case. The feeling were originally, that having a forum burgee, was a bit of an honor and should not be sold like a bounty bar or other commodity. So you have to put a little bit of effort in to become a burgee holder. Bit like being an MP I suppose, we dont let any old rif raf in. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Was it really stolen, or have you been flying it day & night for five years & the string broke?

Although the burgee is excellent value, the string is feeble & comes without toggle or loop. I had to buy a dufflecoat button from Hobbycraft & spend an evening sewing it in, then sew the surplus line down the back of the burgee to reinforce it & then to whip a loop in the base. NOW, it is fit to fly in a select string of favoured burgees from the crosstrees.
