The theyr weather charts are excellent as most of us agree, but their standard webpage is a bit graphics oriented and heavyweight if trying to use on a small screen device (like a phone) or via GPRS.

However, it is possible to download just the required chart without all the other gubbins on the page, if you do a bit of fiddling with the web address. I've come up with some rules for the address of just the chart you want, which are a bit of a fiddle, but seem to work...

Theyr weather charts basic web address

http://theyr.net/m/E0/maps/EN/

pIus

EN.w.xxyyzztt.dd.gif

where
EN is country code for England (see below for others)
w is map code for wind (see below for others)
xx is year forecast made - eg 04
yy is month forecast made - eg 07
zz is date forecast made - eg 07
tt is 00 for morning forecast, appears 8am, 12 for afternoon forecast, appears 8pm

dd is hours ahead for forecast, from midnight for 00 morning forecasts, from midday for 12 forecasts. This value should be in range 13 to 72

Other country codes

SCO Scotland
IE Ireland
NS Britain & North Sea
NA North Atlantic

Other map codes

cc cloud cover
pc precipitation
t10 temperature and pressure
30 300 hPa Isobar height
50 500 hPa Isobar height
70 700 hPa Isobar height

So for example, the wind chart for 10am tomorrow (Thursday) morning is

<A target="_blank" HREF=http://theyr.net/m/E0/maps/EN/EN.w.04070700.34.gif>http://theyr.net/m/E0/maps/EN/EN.w.04070700.34.gif</A>

Note: the above link will not work anymore once this post is a few days old.
