Just had a variation on the "you've won a major prize" phone call,not the usual rubbish recorded message but a guy that does sound like he's talking to you,until you try and interupt him.
Finishes with you can send an SAE or as its close to Christmas it might be better to call us on.... yeh ok then.

when you get one of those, just put the phone down off its cradle, and let them talk to themselves for an hour or so, its their bill!

Ahh, I'd love to but its a business phone and none of our highly valued customers can get thru(although at this time of year we could probably do that)We stopped the dodgy fax's when we got one threatening to give our number to all countries unless we phoned them on....

I posted similar a few weeks ago and was kindly given a link to the <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/>Telephone preference service </A> if you register with them it should stop these kind of bollox calls getting through. I was inundated with fax's and cold sales and like you was sick to death of customers not being able to get through for some pillock trying to sell or scam me. Takes about 28 days for full effect apparently so I am just about there. Oh and its free by the way.

Yup, all done.We actually registered the fax line with them some time ago,how stupid am I? DOH

Don't do this if you have been called on your mobile or you could incur a hefty bill without the scamming effect. Roy

Can verify that the service works, we went on it about 10 years ago and have not had 1 double glazing salesman call since we registered. The only calls that get through are from firms you do business with already like banks. But a polite, 'do that again and I'll go elsewhere' gets rid of them as well. Now the only nuisance calls we get are from the mother-in-law! (not really she's a sweety)
