thermal underwear - lateral thinking ?

The last time I wore thermals for sailing was an awful experience.
"Damart" long sleeved vests and longjohns.
The static they created was incredible.
In the dark I crackled like bolts of lighning.:eek:

I wear the new style thin thermals on the bike a lot and they are awesome compared to the older gear.I find nowadays I have to get going once kitted up or i become an efficiant water maker/heat exchanger

Or a bit more lateral thinking - how about using one of the bikers 12v heated waistcoats when helming in winter? Really effective on the bike.

Yes, I remember Damart lightning! If you timed it carefully you could find your way into your forepeak bunk without switching on the lights.

Talking of static a cat in ilfracombe exploded due to static on sons tracksuit.
Ps.Don't moor near me, had 3 boats explode next to us in last 10 yrs!
