There is its gotta be a rat !
I went down to check on the boat today after the high winds and the cover had split .
I opened up the boat and sat on the floor is a pigion with 2 eggs! Wich makes me think the rat has gone . Any way i lob the eggs and nest overboard and open the cabin door to a carnage of shreaded paper and food , it had even tried to get into the canned food (You know the finest caviar) i keep onboard just incase forbsie gets peckish . I thought of shooting it but i know id miss and sink the boat so any ideas other than poisen ? ............... Thinking about it its not alot differant from when forbsie is aboard , crisps on the floor and all the food gone , and he told me he was in Scotland !

you can kill rats with waufuerin same as meeces, in fact easier. Get loads from the chemist, wrapeem uop in plastic bags and bung up the holes so the rat has gotta eat thru them. Also, git all the food out of the boat!

Late one night, after imbibing a reasonable quantity of the blushful hippocrene, I discovered a rat in the kitchen of my in-laws house in France. An iron bar was to hand and the obvious thing to do was to hit the rat with it.

The in-laws were quite nice about the aftermath, all things considered, and the new kitchen looks a treat.

Personal preference is to shoot or good old fashioned spring trap, cos when they die of poison, they invariably do it somewhere inaccessible and stink the place out

The first thing you need to do is put a big disk thingie on your bow mooring rope so that it can't get down the line onto my boat!!! Then what you need to do is ........ well I don't actually care, as long as it don't get onto my boat. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

years ago, food started disappearing. Like a pound of brussel sprouts, and another time an entire loaf of bread. Rat diagnosed, so - to find out its favourite route, we dusted the kitchen floor with flour. Next moring the entire floor had been licked clean...
