It poured hard about 10 mins after they arrived.

Cheers Ian.Always entertaining watching a dozen boats locking in with 13 different methods of arrival.Some even leave the lock pointing the same way they entered.
Not a easy job getting into the lock with the wind "assisting" you in and the ebb tide whipping past.
A couple of resident boats had three or four goes getting in just prior to BCC turning up.

Would perhaps also be nice if you weren't quite so insulting to those who have been so hospitable to you when you venture up the golden waterway. Coming out of a lock facing the wrong way is pretty small beer compared with trying to annihilate Chiswick Ait with a P33 pulpit ......
