During the sujmmer I decided to keep Freebird in the water this winter, rather than have her lifted out. So I just thought I'd put this in to show the fishermen amongst us that there are still fish in the Irish Sea. Omega has wound me up quite a lot in the past, so here's a couple of what we 'shamateurs' can do on a good day. We put all the others back as we only fish for the pot. well we have to let them grow don't we?

Actually the wether has been either very good like today and yesterday. or B awful. but it was nice to motor serenly out past the other boats all lined up on top of the harbour wall.

One nice Cod about 6ls and a 4.5 lb callig. Fillets now in the freezer.

We met Mr and Mrs Neddie Segoon out there today, and he radioed that her was a happy camper as he had caught a 8 to 10 lb callig. Hmmm!!!!

I have made sketches so that one day, if I catch something. I will recognise it.

I am kicking myself that I am not boating today, the Weather is just glorious.

HI

Answer is yes to both questions.. callig are just manx pollock, and 90% of cod do have worms. Just parasites but think of the extra protein in the fish and chips.... cooking sorts them out anyway.

Cheers

About time you put the boat to it's intended use, mind you those overalls are a bit over the top anyone would think you caught loads of fish!!

What a mixed bag of weather

But not much in the way of fish, unless of course you count Doggies there must be thousands of them out there. Saturday we stayed close to home and only managed one noteable fish This one

it went just under 12 lbs.

Sunday what a great day for flying on instruments, visibility almost nil, and navigation was entirely electronic, and in some cases from the radio chatter sometimes hysterical

Today was clear but the weed was still a bother, and again the fishing was not all that.

The windfarm has already got one platform standing, by the end of the week it look like a forest at this rate.

There you go Drew, and not a drop of WD 40 in sight.
