Well not quite but it was a Lisa and Juls fun day drop off from Eastbourne Marina to Hamble.
First was the trip by road in an old black cab (blue actually) from Swanwick to Eastbourne...that was fun (thanks Trevor). A tad windy...but fun nevertheless. Arrived 2 hours later at Premiers Eastbourne marina, only to spend a further 1/2 hour trying to navigate our way round to the right part, then a further 15 minutes trying to locate the pontoon the boat was on. Sort it out Premier...it's a nightmare of a maze and so needs signposts!
Anyway...we found her. A rather lovely Fairline Targa 38 to be transported back to RK Marine, Swanwick. Totally different to our Sealine SC35 in both layout and ride so great experience for me having only ever been on Montereys and said sc35.
So...off we go. 1st through the bridge once it had opened then through the lock and away we go.
A bit lumpy to start then considerably more lumpy  passing Beachy Head.
It finally flattened out a bit and we had a rather nice and somewhat smoother passage to the Looe Channel. Through there we go and into ever calmer waters with only the very occasional boat around. Topped out at 34knts and smooth as silk. Not a single hiccup I'm glad to report.
Aside from a rogue canoeist threatening to spoil the run, we had a very smooth last leg to Hamble. All in all a very enjoyable trip; A beautiful, sunny day and only really turning cold as the sun began to set. Roughly 3 and half hours door to door which wasn't at all bad considering the sea state at the start.
Whoever has bought this boat has got a cracker so I hope they enjoy her.
knackered now tho so I'm off for a bacardi or 3!

Sounds great and am very glad you didn't end up flying into the Grand Canyon in a blaze of glory. :D

All in a day's work my dear. Welcome to our world.

Much respect to you all. Great life but boy when the elements hit...that's a lot of money to be responsible for. Me?...I'm just happy to tag along when required :D

:D:D. Also shows you what most boats will cope with. Juls and I have some interesting trips over the years.
