Just got a letter from Yacht Haven. Left it on the table all day.
Then opened it after tea. ( Didn't want to be sick.)
£12- 68 cheque returned. Cos we had a 12 quid credit and 68 pence wiped off the computer. What about that then 68pence yipee! I'm off to the pub!

You get a letter in the post. Look at the envelope to see who it's from. Decide it's unlikely to be pleasant or good news, so don't open it on the basis that what you don't know can't piss you off.

Anyone else do that too?

I once left a letter from HMIT unopened for about 3 weeks, then SWMBO decided that she'd had enough worrying about it so opened it for me. Tax refund of about £700. She's never let me leave letters unopened since.

So now I hide them as well.
