The wrong sort of waves

Local consternation because Virgin's brand new trains can't make it through the waves at Dawlish sea front at HWSs. Can't be more than a couple of fathoms and they stop! Something to do with water in the electrics (I thought they were diesel).

Can't help myself but perhaps a committee of stinkies might be able to offer some advice to Mr Branson.

Cleardly Richard B needs to invest in some steam engines .... Merchant Navy Class?

OBTW his diesels are actually diesel electric - the locomotive is a large diesel powered generator which powers electric motors to move the train Gets round the problem of a clutch and transmission to shift a 600+ ton load. And as we all know electrics and seawater dont mix!

Thanks - that was not clear - anyway they have solved the problem by bringing back the old trains which obviously work better under water.
