Really excellent food at low prices and well served and presented. Highly recommended. (Kings Head also good in Yarmouth for food but avoid The Bugle at all costs.)

Re: Wheatsheaf and Kings Head, Yarmouth, IOW

It can be busy at mealtimes but we've never been turned away, although we have had to wait a while sometimes. We tend to take our chances at lunchtime but book in the evening, particularly at weekends.

Run by the same people as the Anchor and the Lifeboat in Cowes and the Mayflower in Lymington, I think.

Popular with families, including mine I'm afraid, so your enjoyment may depend, somewhat, on your tolerance of kids.

Very good but avoid the burgers they are of the frozen (rather than homemade) variety - whereas the burgers in the Kings Head are excellent /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The best value pub food we have found so far , Good quality , Good service , and the prices more than cover berthing fees , so , any excuse and we are there with family , kids , friends , in fact anyone who hitches a lift from lymington gives us a reason to go /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Don't miss out on Yarmouths fine dining experience. Forresters restaurant is down the side road between Harwoods and the Grocers - next to the police station. Absolutely brilliant dining experience. Fresh food cooked by a proper chef and reasonable prices, lovely surroundings. This guy deserves support. Youre' probably into about £30 per head for 3 courses but its well worth it and there was a 2 for 1 deal on mains last week
