The Waterlog Towable Watermaker...does it function or is it a DUD ?

Saw a video of a Warrior 35 (Dart Warrior) doing a transat and showing the waterlog. They created about a litre of fresh water before the prop on the end of it fell off!!! If it worked reliably then they would be more popular.

OK, thanks for your reply.
I am interested in getting to the bottom of this.
You say you saw a waterlog producing water....even if the prop fell off...because the general consensus seems to be it does not produce fresh water by osmosis at all.
Any bona fide experiences here please.

I think you'll be lucky to find anyone who has a Waterlog. There were lots of threads about it on these forums about 7 years ago, but they all got pulled by moderators following legal threats from Waterlog. The bottom line was that there were apparently no satisfied users of the thing apart from someone called Ted Boyle, who posted on (I think) a US forum. It just happens that Ted Boyle was, at the time, the maker of the Waterlog.

This thread will probably be pulled too...

Thank you for your sincere and helpful reply.

A subject like this one under discussion has the potential of the greatest gravity being averted if no one can be found to prove the thing actually works because its intended use is to provide drinking water out of sight of land on long passages. Therefore reliance on the provision of drinking water is essential to the preservation of life. I cannot think of a requirement more urgent and compelling to long distance yachtsmen.

Thanks again.
