For anyone interested in seeing the Vulcan flying, it has been confirmed as being part of the 2012 programme. From the Clacton Airshow web site:

Flight times are currently being confirmed however we can advise you that flights start from 2pm Thursday & 1pm Friday. The Vulcan will be flying on Thursday and the Red Arrows on Friday! Official programmes will be available over the two days on site.

Looks like we will be anchored off on both days!

I saw the prototype flying in '53 or '54 from Woodford, Stockport

Looking forward to see an old friend, I spent 16 years & amassed over 4,000 hrs on Vulcans.

Flying in a Vulcan has been described by some as viewing the world from inside a letter box or sitting in a tin can whilst it was being hit with a cricket bat.

Nevertheless I have many fantastic memories.:)

Bit faster than my snappy!

Sadly the last 2 years the sea needed some extreme ironing to make it comfortable to watch so didn't make it .

However we are planning to be anchored off on the Thursday (Weather Permitting) & looking forward to seeing the Vulcan.
