Nattering to Kwackers today. I told him of the voyage of D9, a world war 2 Liberty boat, that I got asked to navigate from Cowes to Stourport on the Severn. I thort every one had read the acount of about eight years ago.

There were many problems, but the main one was. Because I said Falmouth was 270 deg, from where we were.

The captain thought Falmouth was 270 deg from everywhere and all the crew agreed, they could not be conviced otherwise. Well not till the surf and rocks came into view. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You thort wrong! I have never heard this tale. Sounds interesting, how about repeating it?

It's been recounted in Golden Oldies quite a few times, under different headings. One was. The Worst Skipper Ever. On the boat at the moment, hopefully the original is still in the home computer. Maybe try. Show Me The Way To Go Home. A year or two back.
