Met this marauder in Peel, Isle of Man last thursday. 100 feet long, and had to turn round before leaving, entirely by oar power.
Here she is quietly at her berth, getting ready to turn and leave.

Here she is in attack mode, didn't quite touch.

and here she makes an exit through the gate.

Subsequently found out that they rowed the whole way to Dublin.

I visited the Viking Museum in Roskilde when she was being built.
Very impressive.
It's amazing what a few blokes with big choppers, [and adzes] can achieve.
