OK for those who still think the split plastic protector can be used as a grease applicator.
Read On.
Prepare two slices of toast.
Place one slice on top of the other.
Get butter knife + soft butter.
Apply your usual ammount of butter to knife.
Lightly press on toast with palm of one hand( fingers out of way)
Now insert butter knife between said slices of toast.
Move slowly across toast.
Put knife down.
Lift toast.
Is the toast buttered ? or do you have a big glob of butter on the side of your plate?

Yes
but when you drop the toast it always lands butter side down. Try to remove the butter from the floor with the plastic collar.
