No, not about the mundane world of “new generation” anchors etc that mere mortals use - but reading about the ClubSwan 125 Skorpios and it’s anchor solution ………
…….. which comprises a 15 metre long, custom built carbon hulled catamaran “tender”, with 1,200hp engines, which apparently chases the mother ship carrying the anchor and 600kg of chain. This is apparently needed because its 7.4m draft means it can‘t get into most yacht harbours, so needs to anchor off - and carrying its own anchoring gear would be too heavy.
(Quite how this is legal for racing in things like Fastnet Race I will,leave to others. Presumably they carry a 10kg Rocna and a bit of dyneema string. And nobody needs to grind a winch, as all push button, with engine running to power it. Cheque book racing has been redefined.)
