Nice video, I am sure Fraserburgh is spelt with an 's', not a 'z'. Unless there is more traditional spelling with the 'z'. But minor matter compared to the content.

You are correct. Slapped wrist for me.

Every video has so many potential areas for errors to occur. Trying to identify headlands and lighthouses whilst off the boat is not that easy. Two glaring errors were corrected, but I can live with this typo as it takes nearly an hour to correct the video and reload.

Understood! Great voyage and good videos. I like the style of video and images without excessive narration.

Do you, or have you had excessive, or accelerated wear on the mainsail from pressing against spreaders and shrouds, especially at the batten pockets?

I hate sailing videos that are full of talking, semi clad women and background music. I try to give a feel of what the sailing was like and the interesting places I visited. They are certainly a brilliant memory of my trip and hopefully might inspire others to do a similar trip in the future.

When I bought the sails, the mainsail came with self adhesive sailcloth circles for the main wear points - against the swept back spreaders and cap shrouds over the battens. Once a little wear appeared I then attached the patches as this ensured they were in the right place.

The battens are full length, so there is no end to a batten pocket. These photos show some limited wear by the batten cars, not surprising after 8 years use.

Considering these sails have done about 5,000 miles sailing and this winter will be the first time they have been back to a sailmaker, the wear has been minimal. The shape of both of the sails has remained good and will not need replacing for a good many years as I specified Vektran sailcloth.

I think the format is good --- you just need 'sailing' in your channel name and a sheila with big tits in the thumbnail and you are good to go.

Maybe thats what I need :)

My one attempt/experiment
YouTube has been changing the method to change the channel name once 100 subscribers has been reached. When I reached 100 subscribers, the whole system had been disabled and after a couple of weeks checking it still was not available. Must check to see if I can update my channel name. Not sure about asking Sheila with big tits to make an appearance would improve the viewing numbers.

For a first attempt at creating a video,I thought you have done a very good job. It is a pity you only used photographs. Perhaps you could return to Chile to some video? LOL That was the comment from several forum members after I rounded Out Stack (the most northerly point of the UK) in thick fog, so I could see the shore to take some video.

I had to stop it after 1.20 mins as it just kept flashing one image after another too quickly. My eyes I think. I like Roger Barnes videos, makes you feel as you are there... a relaxing watch.

Sorry you did not like the quick changes of clips. In the past when I tried longer shots it made the video appear to be too slow moving. I could easily increase each clip, but then the video would increase to nearer 20 minutes, which makes it less likely for people to make time to watch it all. I know of another person who has made a round Britain trip but each part is 45 minutes long, which puts me off immediately as I rarely find any personal video keeps my attention.

Since I post my reply in post #14, there have been a further 3 people subscribe to my channel on YouTube, so other people like my video editting sufficiently to want to see more. Looking at the ratio of likes to views for the first 3 parts of the trip, this video has the highest percentage, so most other viewers seem to like the tighter editting.
