I am interested to hear from people who feel that they are approaching the evening of their life.

I suppose it's around now that they might feel they are now on the Magic Roundabout of their lives, perhaps flicking thru the TV guide to the rest of their lives only to find there's nothing much on? Or do they plan a short Early Evening Snooze of life, in readiness for a Long Night Out?

Jamesie might consider 50 to be approaching the evening of his life, but I'm hoping that it's nearer to the afternoon tea break. Still a few hours to work, with a bit of fun thrown in, before a nice meal and a good night out. Not flicked through the tv guide for years and swmbo has sovereignty over the remote control, so who knows what's in store.

Average life expectancy (M) about 75 - 85 years.

Retire at 60 and an awful long time to sit and watch TV.

You've probably got 20-30 years of active life ahead of you, decide what you're going to do with it. Read "Grey Wolf" and wonder a bit, it considers the power and ability to do things etc and for a long time.

Being only four years behind young Jimi, I am in the afternoon teabreak of life, waiting for the kettle to boil, and someone's nicked the jammie dodgers.

Friend of mine recently commented that your life is more or less a week of 10 year days

Most of us get a week, or 70 years. The lucky few get an extra Bank Holiday Monday chucked in

When I saw 10/20 in Jimi's bio I thought it was something to do with his deteriorating eyesight - er, probably is.

With all the shite that's on Tele these days I'm warming up my garage for a few unusual projects. (Unusual if they work).
So after tea is something to look forward to.

Someone has a tag line similar to my motto for years;

I can't stop growing old but I'm b*ggered if I'm ever going to grow up!

I enjoyed getting up, first breakfast, second breakfast, elevenses, lunch, afternoon tea, high tea, and still looking forward to Dinner, Supper, and a wee dram at bedtime before I pop my clogs!

They, (whoever "they" are), say that life begins at 40 and, more recently that 60 is the new 40.

Having seen Helen Mirren and Janet Street Porter being interviewed recently, I was amazed to discover that both are either 60, or very close to it. Quite a few men seem to be wearing equally well, (I just dont take as much notice), so I dont think anyone should be preparing to pop their clogs until a long time after 60.
