Had a chat with the landlord today. The old pontoon is to be replaced over the next few weeks by something much wider, with seating for eating.

It sounds good. I wonder if they will improve the service and food at the same time. It is almost too tiresome to explain how poor the customer experience is there. Even more tiresome is that the landlord is oblivious.

Was there last BH weekend. The pontoon is slippery when wet and has no decent mooring attachments BUT, the beer was excellent, staff friendly (kissed by one of the barmaids) and they happily let me have the wifi key, which is useable indoors or on board, and had enough grunt to drive iPlayer. They asked for a tenner to moor, redeemable against drinks.

Why do they need folk to sit on the pontoon? I assume the bit up the steps bankside is being absorbed into the building?

Have they got the hoarding down yet? Seems odd that they are going to have seating on the pontoon but might be handy to have shore crew on hand. It's a shame that there isn't any real consistency there as we have had some really good grub there and some very average as well by clueless staff... Let us know when they are back to speed Brendan, I am relying on you for regular updates, I'm sure Fra will understand :)
