I was out yesterday booootiful, no wind flat seas.
Also out on Friday, got caught in a big daddy of a thunderstorm in Swanage in the afternoon. Hail stones the size of peas, thunder and lightning off Old Harry, wonderful.
might get a bit wet........we had great sun & flat sea this morning but it's just started chucking it down and blowing fair a bit from the sw so I had to come home & babysit instead........aren't kids great /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
Well it's foul here as well. Strong S'ly, horizontal rain. Shame really as Wills Marine have had to cancel their Zodiac Demos this afternoon due to both the rain and "huge" seas outside the harbour. Sounds like fun to me. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
I'm just hoping that the weather will wash the salt off the boat and save me a job. Suppose I'll have to get off here and tidy the flat though /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
I think that the decision was taken on the basis that the normal "posh" Zodiac purchaser would be scared s*****ss by the conditions. It would not have gone down too well with the harbour authority either, I suspect, going for a "play" in the very conditions they advise one not to cross the Bar in. Especially if someone fell out. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Don't think that the Zodiac buyer would want a Scorpion and vice versa -they are very different in character - well the Medlines are anyway.
Yeah, I know, just joshing.
What's interesting tho, is over on rib.net, scorpions are seen as top of range v expensive beasts, with go anywhere in any conditions capabilities. Zodiacs seem hardly to get a mention? There are some decent size Zodiacs but they rarely feature, and tend to get classed as more suited to inshore than offshore. So why are Zodiacs bought by posh people, other than as tenders?
Well Wills have just shipped 2 off to the Med as twin tenders for a large motor yacht. The Medlines also seem to be commonly used as dayboats by "posh" people, whereas the Pro Lines seem to be aimed at more serious ribbers who are never "posh". /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
