...as the dark damp days approach anybody got any boating left in them ?
RCC has its XMAS winter cruise to above the lock at Allington weekend after next.
All mooring to be outside the Malta Inn.
Unfortunately "No room at the Stable " across the way on EA moorings or Allington Castle,so no shorepower .
Be ready for tales of bashed props, cold nights due to dead leisure batteries and riding lights wiped off by Aylesford Bridge. ?

Hi Fred!

As everyone else appears to be 'done' for the year (awaits abuse...) here's my half Euro's worth...

We have an evening at Boveney (lower) Weir stream planned to enjoy the Windsor racecourse fireworks for free! If anybody fancies a quick punt, we will be assembling during the early evening for what is usually a great display. There will be a few Bray boats there, so feel free to raft or anchor at leisure. Everyone is welcome, and I have a few drinks as usual.

After this, Fifty Shades is out for a week or two to have the insurance repairs done (Props rebuilt, Antifoul and a few little bits) before being dropped back in for another year or three.

We will endeavour to venture out as much as possible for small social events or taking advantage of any nice days however...as all club cruises are finished for 2016.

Was out Thursday morning Hurley up to Beale Park and back by Monday afternoon. Few cruisers out, empty moorings at Fawley Meadows in glorious sunshine yesterday. Out previous weekend on the Broads, zillions of boats out, whole fleets of modern 45-50' new high spec hire cruisers, even saw two Broads Authority patrol boats within a couple of miles of each other on the Bure.

We've just moved our boat from Thames and Kennet down to Windsor Racecourse, hoping to use it pretty much throughout the winter as much as we can - even if it's just spending weekends aboard and enjoying the food at Gogos!

Blimey, thought for a moment that the forum had packed up for the season and everyone had gone into hibernation.
There is always the odd day of unseasonable weather to be taken advantage of until spring finally drags its sorry bum into view.
Lets hope previous years floods were just an abberation............

Was out today. Stunning conditions. No wind, nice and bright. A bit chilly but nothing that 2 pairs of long johns and a good thermal vest couldn't sort out. Only issue was picking up a builders hessian bag on my prop. Apart form a couple of rowers it was great.
