I guess the Rocna thread was pulled because:

  • The rush of new viewers, many of whom didn't fit YBW's target profile, was overloading the server

    Votes: 3 37.5%
  • Grant King got it pulled

    Votes: 1 12.5%
  • Lenseman's contributions persuaded them that this potato was getting too hot

    Votes: 4 50.0%

  • Total voters

I can't believe it. I was just about to congratulate YBW for their courage in letting the Rocna thread run, when ZAP! It's gone

Suspended. Snooks has explained above but promised it will return.
Hardly surprising.

Your poll needs a "none of the above" option :)

I think it was Letterman rather than Lenseman - but I didn't get to the end before it vanished!

You didnt really miss anything much. After the revelations by Letterman, there was a mixture of posts mainly from those who had pilloried Burnberry and Hodfast. As you might expect, most of them were saying that Lettermans revelations said nothing about the steel quality used in the anchor. There was a lot of self justification going on and some people attacking Letterman.

I hope the thread does not come back. It was an unsavoury ending to a wholly unsavoury thread. Lynch mob justice based on dodgy evidence and propelled by some characters who I still suspect are linked to Rocna competitors.

An alternative hypothesis is that Letterman wanted the thread closed (I'll leave you to divine why) and so behaved in breach of the forum's code of conduct.
