supplementary question

I too plan various boating trips. Can someone please verify that everything will be ok, thereby save me from the hassle of researching anything beforehand?

Thats not fair! - the first time he posted he wanted 15m of air draft, now he only wants 14m so he has had the good sense to saw 1m off the top of his mast and all you lot can do is take the pith.

Anderson - keep sawing and when you get down to about 4m air draft I reckon you will fit under most of the bridges I have seen on The Rhine - but carry the saw with you....just in case!

a little light bedtime reading to help with your planning, Anderson.

The document you need is "vtt_e.pdf" [a PDF doc]. Use the search box at the bottom of the page, with "bridge" and it should be the first one on the list.

It's a link to the Central Commission for Navigation on the Rhine, and is a 44 page document.

Give my regards to Jimi ( pronounced "Gimme in German) if you ever need his services. Excellent welding, but a trifle expensive when it comes to re-certification and calibration of rigging.
