The Race to the Line!

Well the race is nearly over, and It now seems to be a race for the line!

The leaders are out ahead, and I knew I could never compete with them. Some of the experts like Bejasus and Booby_Trapper are a bit further back than normal, so I'm racing agains't them.

Bejasus seems to have given up after a few techinal problems with his rig, but Booby_Trapper is still going well, I managed to overtake him about 30hrs ago, but he's now creeping back up and is about level with me now if not slighly ahead.

On the leaderboard for YBW, I see a race between myself and 4 others.

My goal when this race started was to finish in the top 250 and try and get in the top 5 of the YBW'er, unfortunatly it doesn't look like I'm going to manage either, but I've thoroughly enjoyed this race, even though its sort of dragged on a bit(much prefer the sailing downwind /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif ). And many thanks to the tips given to me by Bejasus and Booby_Trapper.

So anyone what to guess at what the finishing order will be?

I reckon you`ll still be ok though. Had a great race just trying to beat Brendan although he`s right up my backside again -- the last 280 miles could still be interesting with lighter winds.

Well I'm in a race with trevor.... (ybw-trev)... we keep swapping places...

I overtook him overnight, but I'm rapidly losing places in the overall race having not yet gybed (or gybed and gybed back again because I realised I wasn't going to make the finish on the line I was on). Or at least I think that its a good strategy as lots of people gybed when the leaders did and are now in front but further south- if they make it in one go, I'm stuffed.

Decisions decisions.. looks at the moment like only a few of us- including me and Trev are going further north.


its a matter of holding nerve when you're not following the pack... argggghhhhhh


Keep your fingers crossed folks that one or the other us manages a top 20 place. The honour of ybw is at stake!

I was in 750th for a few days and was about to jump ship thinking that my Easterly track was a silly idea.

I hung in there and am back in 120th odd. So all is not lost.
