Guys (and Gals). The post started by rich has now grown to record (probably) proportions. It is now that big that it will appear cross-referenced by many other marine forums. It would have been better for the red campaign if this thread had withered on the vine instead of flourishing as it has.

You know what they say about the oxygen of publicity...

Mr Mayhew will be sat in his office right now winding the debate up and ensuring it doesn't stop, whilst grinning from ear to ear as the debate rages on and fuels his aims.

I warned of that in one of the earlier posts on there, he must be laughing his head off with so much exposure /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

There are bound to be some who agree with him and be filling his order books right now /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Actually thought it was a spoof - Anyway the model line seems a bit short - Can I suggest an eco friendly steam powered sport boat - The fuel to fire the boiler will naturally be methane (bad) and the raw ingredents to produce this baked beans (good). Thus, the more crew, the faster it goes. Clever seat design will allow gas tight joints under any conditions, and extra supercharging boost could be accomplished by cans of Tetleys or possibly last nights curry. Beware the afterburner effects however.

There, easy. Now can we go back to skiing on Windermere please.

Exactly what I thought. Of all the viewers to that thread and of all the links to it from elsewhere, he could have as many as 10 new orders. A whole years target generated from behind his desk!!

I wish I could clear my years target using controversy and other peoples annoyance!

10 new orders for what Dave?

he hasn't got a fully developed leisure product and all the new products on the list use inboard diesels!

the available leisure product looks so basic, as someone has already said, that any SWMBO is going to veto it from the brochure alone - Victor's cat on the other hand looks absolutely georgeous in comparison (if slightly out of proportion in absolute terms) with loo, galley seats and beds...............plus all the cat factors like stability at rest etc if he sorts out a single D3 installation I am convinced he will be on to a winner.

It doesn't need to be just leisure Duncan, he has the publicity and that's what counts. How many viewers perhaps require commmercial craft, that's my point. He's had a great stage to say what he wants and dodged some good questions /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Thats the point I was going to reply to last night but the forum was too slooooow.

Anyway, commercial craft or no, if he has sufficient interest, he can easily convert to leisure using same hulls as he does now. Then he has a) more orders and b) a new market that he didn't have before.

Its no wonder that he continues to fuel the debate. 2500 views and nearly 250 responses. Crikey, that's mega. Also, its no wonder (to me anyway) that he remains up-beat and cheery in his responses. He's laughing all the way to the bank at the expense of this forum.

But Brendan, thats what I have said all along and that is precisely what people aren't doing.

Have you seen him responding to other related posts like this one or indeed chipping in with other non-related posts - or posting new threads. No! He's keeping the original one running for just as long as he can.
