Very nice restaurant, as long as you like old-fashioned and not a la mode. J Rayner was disappointed. http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2003/jan/19/foodanddrink.shopping3 if you are ever so fussy.

Mind you it's changed hands since and, as I know to my cost, recommendations have only a few weeks validity.

Do you ever sail in rough weather Dylan? Your videos only ever show you efortlessly drifting along in a light breeze, not beating to windward in a rough sea.

It's great going up into these sort of places, with the flood, but coming out on the ebb can be a bit fraught.

it is a bilge keeler thing

as for the rough weather... the light is usually **** when the weather is bad and my camera costs £800

so when the weather is bad I put the boat aground or drop the hook and go below to read a good book

you know I have always had a soft5 spot for the stuff

very forgiving when it comes to making mistakes

and where there is mud there is wonderful marine life

southwold is amazingly posh

Southwold has changed dramatically in the 14 years I have lived in the area and not for the better.

Shame really. Hardly ever bother visiting now.

The harbour's still OK but getting 'upgraded' and loosing its rustic appeal - stagings now go for £20k+.
