Got taken there on my birthday last November. Used to be the Barley Mow I believe ( I had been there before when it was a mere pub, but memory isn't what it used to be ). It's on the river just by the lock into the marina. Terrace has been enclosed so one can eat out in the winter. A Ramsay establishment, but well worth the trip. Absolutely delicious food, and not an arm and a leg. Lots of food, an awful lot of wine and some beer, and it all came to £30 each. OK £30 isn't that cheap, but I have paid that in a local pub and it was crap! Only prob could be getting in unless it's a weekday, but I am sure they will squeeze you in somewhere if they can.

Was in Limehouse last summer and looked at the Ramsay establishment and wasn't impressed by the menu. To me a pub should be what it is and if doing food make it good, straight forward nosh & not try to be a resturant!

Just along the road from there is a pub called 'Bootie' - good beer and food and a lot less than £30 per head. Oh and the lass behind the bar was a true Eastender too.

Shame you didn't actually try it ! I had looked at it for a friends birthday the year before and had been slightly deterred, but am glad I was taken there on mine. Yes there is fancy stuff on the menu, but also bangers and mash etc. I had the most yummy white onion soup and braised ox cheek, with a delicious apple Charlotte to follow. Real hot baked rolls, and several bottles of Pinot Grigio and ale for the beer drinkers. I am just so fed up with pubs that serve pre packed frozen food from a well know national supplier and pretend it's all fresh and home cooked...I suppose home cooked means they cooked it in the micro wave. Yes there is nothing better than ham off the bone with a perfectly fried egg and proper chunky chips, but how often do you actually find it ? Spend £12 for something out of the microwave.. no thanks I'd rather cook on board myself for a fraction of that price.

Another vote for the Narrow. Like others I thought that it had been tarted up. However, it pulls off being both a local, witness the guys in there that have lived around the area all of their lives and gastro pub. The food was well cooked, reasonalby priced and the staff were charming. Oh and the lad behind the bar was a true eastender...

Went over new year and thought of was her good. Just had fish and chips but cooked perfectly, nothing worse than cheap greasy fish, this tasted very fresh especially considering it was I think new years day we were there. The bird behind the bar was well fit!
