OK, so it's not quite the Canadian Rockies, it's Porthmadog in the Snowdonia National Park, and the Mounty in question is a certain local constable.

This local PC diligently followed up the facts behind some bloke casting my boat adrift on the early morning of the 15th July. I am pleased to report that the perp has been nailed. He owned up to the offence and has been fined under the public order act a fixed penalty of £80.

Given that he allegedly untied my boat and cast it adrift to get at the mussell bed that lies underneath, I reckon that's the most expensive bucket of mussells he'll ever collect.

Yes, I know - I'm one of those who on previous occasions has criticised NW police over their record of catching motorists vs criminals.

Equally, I will be the first up to say "hats off" to the local constabulary who did a first class job in a short timescale...and doubtless they have a million and one other more pressing things than my boat!

I do like local policing where it counts....locally!

Glad they got the [--word removed--].
Was this the man that apprehended the villain?

I didn't know Porthmadog had a Baker St. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Same good 'ol fasion policing though. It was funny because the PC phoned me up to give me details of the events and he said...."so I invited him down to the station, and he decided it was in his best interest to accept"...

If only all policing and criminals were as quaint..
