I have just been reading a book called the Motorist afloat published in 1963 and it was amazing to see the following :-
" Insurance is also comparatively cheap .... £2-£5 for a small outboard runabout"
"1 hp lightweigts £25 to giant developing 75hp costing £500"
"A 16 hp motor recomended for medium sized seagoing cruisers"
Pictures of Seagull outboards and Morris Minor with a boat on the roof rack made me think how much things have changed.
I guess 25 foot was a BIG boat back then......
