Is a traditional festival to celebrate the end of the summer season, with Saturday evening culminating in a large firework display.

I’m hoping to be there tomorrow, sailing early from Troon with curry, rusty-nails, guitar & camera. :)

See you all there!?

Give me a shout on Ch77! :D

Edit …. & I’m predicting some sunshine! ;) :)

Been there all wk end John.
Saw Gina on a vis mooring but I wasent there on HB so couldent call you on vhf.
Thousands of people on streets last night for the fantastic FW display and the fire/candle display on the Eileen.
Could smell your curry though, was wondering why so many folk were queing on the pier, must have thought there was a floating Deli out there.:D
Again we (swmbo and I) had a beautiful meal in the renowned Harbour resturant on fri night.
Definatly worth booking a table in but beware book well in advance of a visit to the island.
Sure Gina is in the first pic below.

Hi Eamonn,

We arrived at 14:30 after a late start, preceded ashore for a fish supper & a walk along the front, back to the boat for the curry, watched the firework display. Then as the weather was from the south I decided it was a little uncomfortable on the moorings, so we headed off to the CWSC at 20:45. Approx ten minutes later it was the aquatic version of the M6 at rush-hour, with about twenty boats all overtaking me (some ‘V’ close) heading towards Largs. One in particular (lozenge) came in close on my Stbd quarter, then cut across my bow only to turn & come down my Port side …. why!?.
Recognised one of our club boats off my Port side & I have to say it’s an unusual experience speaking to a familiar voice while in close proximity in the pitch-black.

I did manage to get my guitar out in the cockpit at Millport, & received a round of applause from my neighbours ….. cheers guys … I will be much better in a nice warm bar whilst not pitching due to a considerable swell.

Sailed out of the channel this morning but the wind was on the nose for Troon so we just had a motor back with some considerable seas to punch our way through.

Hopefully I’ll have a video of the event / weekend in a couple of days.

OG :)

See you all next year! :)

And! .... were there any 'Forumites' in that crazy aquatic dash over to Largs? …. apart from Moi!?
