well it gone a little quiet, which may or may not be a good thing.

i'd just like to say a big thanks to all who turned up in Poole. I for one enjoyed meeting everyone, aquaintances old and new..

suppose the pics will start soon, hopefully not as bad as some other meetings have produced.

therefore a resume...

PBO (thanx Jake) attended with the humber rib... i'm still trying to stop grinning... and me not liking fast boats!.. so a quick blast out through the chain ferry was the order of the day, i was suprised how the boat handled and how soft the ride was... even considering Col was mostly flying the thing off every crest!... *note to self*.. get small rib to play with at earliest oppertunity...

Duncan arrived in style with a veritable supply of mulled wine, with a motley crew aboard. Geoffs arrived just after the sky was lit up by an unknown phenomenon.. was it the northern lights?... or a inpromptu rummage through the chrissie decs???

NigelB, provided the balance by bringing a pretty boat, apparently with both an engine and some sails.... more sails needed in future meets.

i hope that everone enjoyed themselves as much as i did, as it's always a great pleasure to meet other people in such an environment.

now we wait for the fallout!!!

regards and best wishes to all. steve.

Thanks to you for organising it, Steve.

I had a great time without too much of a hangover this morning. Great meeting everyone again and especially nice to see newcomers, NigelB, Jake, Edmund and Julie. Really missed the many regulars who couldn't make it though.

I was suggesting to Barry on the way back that we could do a Fitting-out Supper Roadshow next year, starting out at the end of February on the south coast, then the Thames, Severn, the Broads, N. Wales and Scotland. Any more suggestions?

Roll on the next one.

WIsh I could have made it. I was thinking about you all having fun.

I'm up for anything that's organised in the new year

Everyone up for a big May bash again? Kim's up for it, and John Watson has put me in contact with new MDL chief Jon Eads.

<hr width=100% size=1> I asked an economist for her phone number....and she gave me an estimate

I'll remember the "Motley" crew remark. Looks like the storm has passed, which can only be a good thing.
Good weekend, thoroughly enjoyed it. Good company, good'ish beer and good food, especially the breakfast at lunchtime, you shudda had one.
The rib looked fun, not! In the warmer months maybe. Good to meet Jake and hear of his ideas. Have to do it again sometime.

so far so good, all positive feedback. as for the breakfast..... nah, i couldn't have eaten it.... (and that's honest!)

i'm glad everyone enjoyed it and that the weather stayed reasonable. points for next time, are that i should have organised feeding (note to self).

the rib was great fun, and i'm glad i brought my old wets! thanks to everyone who attended throughout the day, just goes to show that it's not the location or the weather... it's the people who make a do enjoyable.... (and Duncan with his mulled wine).

as for my next list of excuses!!!... i'm taking time off later, as last night we were still plastering my kitchen at 23:00!

the kitchen fitters turned up at 08:00 this morning and iv'e spent the morning running in a new soil pipe in the front garden, including digging a trench 7 metres long by 1 metre deep BY HAND!!! to lay the new pie into! and breaking into the existing inspection pit. the new kitchen should be in by the weekend and i should be back in the workshop fitting out the launch.

so ************NEXT YEAR I WILL HAVE MY BOAT DONE******

(but don't hold your breath!)

best wishes to all, steve.
