The long or the short of it?

I've been offered a new 2.7 mtr inflatable at a gift, It will take up to a 10hp outboard, Do I go for a long or short shaft model

Measure the transom of your boat, From the top to the keel will be either 15"/16", short or standard shaft. 20"/21" long shaft. Most inflatables are short shaft as are many sailing dinghies, fishing/row boats and yacht auxiliary motors are often long shaft. You always need to check though!!

If it is a modern 2.7m then it will almost definitely be a short shaft.
