Took advantage of prob last weekend of decent weather to do a short 2 day ditchcrawl and to see if the Ardic was working properly(no it wasnt).
Up early on Sat morning to catch neap tide for Allington Lock.

Not a bad year really for us with boat trips to Chelsea/Burham/Windsor and lots of up river stuff.Only a few bits went bust including one wiper motor and a shower pump plus the usual dinged props.
Ps. and the mysterious outdrive jamming in gear fault of course. All in all about 140 hours.
Having said that the weather this weekend is looking quite nice.

I would like to post some pictures. But my camera is probably in the possession of some large cod who is taking pictures of his mates, since I dropped it over the side. Come to think of it he probably has a locker down there stashed with a couple of my rods, a hat, sunglasses and a mincer.

Plus
several pairs of my glasses
at least three rods/reels
Assorted tools
several vital nuts/bolts/split pins
1 x lock handle
1 x boat hook

Ardics are the biggest heap of boating shite ever produced. It was by far the most troublesome piece of kit inherited with my boat.

Another boat owner gave me the advice to simply chuck it over the side and buy something else, seems he'd not long since bought a new one which caused him nothing but grief. He took it off did exactly what he advised me to do with mine.

Haven't you got one?? how else do you mince up your old fish to make a rubby dubby??

of course you've still got outdrives and you a self confessed hater of out drives. When you gonna get a proper boat wiv shafts then?

Come and see our lovely Corniche 31.

When you gonna get a proper boat wiv shafts then?

Cos i am a very poor man,and according to the forum, the prices on ye olde flybridge boats with big engines on inefficient shafts is about to collapse to black hole preportions and there will be loads of fly-shafties on the UK market at 10p each................
am still waiting patiently
