Should be an exciting day today, boat unloaded in Palma and taken around the island to Alcudia, I wished I was there instead of here in the office

Well the unloading and first ten miles went well................

Got a call from the company delivering the boat to say that the sterndrive (or driveshaft) had started making a very funny noise, had I experienced this before? The answer is no, it had always run as sweet as a nut on Windermere but then again it had never run 10 continuous miles at cruising speed. I reckon the engine has about 50 hours on it all told.

Latest thinking is that it is problem with the driveshaft (possibly universal joint)

Fed up now because:-

1) Extra expense (no idea how much yet)

2) Embarrassed that I've given the delivery guys this problem, I made sure the outdrive was serviced in Windermere before it left as I wanted it to be OK for them.

ah well, you need to get some people round, with white vans. The first will say they all do that, the second will say he will have a look at it tomorrow and then disappear, and the third will shake his head and make tsk noises cos you are a daft foreigner. Soon, you will discover than the noise is due to the fact that the shipping people loosened the props, or all the gear you had stowed in the lazerette or somewhere is banging about cos there are no waves on windermere (especially now you aren't there).

How funny is this noise? It might be the noise of the boat being at sea. Did you leave the radio on? More info needed.

First option of course is to blame the delivery peeps, not to feel guilty about it.
