The incredible story of a folding boat

Re: The incredible story of a folding boat FAO Duncan

Duncan won't know because they've changed the law so many times in the last 20 years no policeman on earth could be certain without having enough time to consult a lawyer and his books. In the early 70s it was possible for a copper to have a working knowledge of most law. Now? Not a chance. Soapbox mode off.

Talking to Stowaway Folding Boat Company at LIBS 2007. Apparently, Seahopper Folding boats run by Chris Rea is a con. He takes your money and never gives you a boat. He's been thrown out of the BMIF and banned from Boat Shows.
DONT DEAL WITH SEAHOPPER and CHRIS REA!!

As someone who has bought a new item on a credit card you are protected by both the sales of goods act and the consumer credit act. (This is assuming what you ordered is the standard retail product and in no way customised for you). That puts you in a very strong position.

Technically you should at some point have written to the supplier officially rejected the goods as being damaged/not of satisfactory quality. I'm not a lawyer, but I believe in most cases the onus is on the supplier to prove that the goods were delivered and of satisfactory quality, not on you to disprove it.

You should take action against both the supplier and the CC company in the SCC - it is highly unlikely to come to court but if it does the court will find in your favour and the CC company will pay up (that is the beauty of using the CC)
