...made me think of those two pint beer bottles with a screw in stopper that used to be quite usual onboard in the 70's. They made a great hotwater bottle. Fill them up from the kettle, slip them inside a seaboot sock and there you go toastie sleeping bag.
I don't reckon you could do that with a larger can though.
