I hate doing this, but you lot have a choice.

Please review this offering from the caterer for the Fitting Up Supper menu choice. How posh the nosh is the question.
Please let me know your thoughts on style and content..... thanks

Below are the menus which the bradwell club have had in the last couple of weeks as an idea,

Individual steamed steak pudding, creamy mash, glazed carrots & braised cabbage.

Warm Pear & Almond tart with cream (and/or custard)

Chicken Curry, Coconut basmati rice, Spiced Spinach & sweet potato, Onion Bahji & Naan bread

Passion fruit pannacotta

Roast Beef, Yorkshire Pudding, crispy roast potatoes & seasonal vegetables

Homemade Spotted dick & custard

%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

I have managed to do these for £12.50 per person. If you wanted to go for three courses and add a starter you are looking at an extra £4.

Depending on weather we can also do bbq. We have a commercial gas bbq and set up the food inside in chaffing (hot) dishes. Typical menu for a bbq would be

Homemade burger

Butchers sausage

Lamb Kofte kebab

Lemon, Garlic & herb Chicken skewers

Potato salad

Cous Cous

Homemade crunchy coleslaw

Baby leaf salad

French bean & cherry tomato salad

Beetroot & spring onion

Bread & buns

Condiments.

Chocolate & walnut brownies

Orange & carrot cake

This comes to £14 per person and the meat & salads are changeable if you wish.

If you wanted something a bit more traditional pub menu we can do anything. Everything we serve we make using the best quality ingredients.

Lasagne

Smoked haddock fish pie

Steak & ale pie

Chicken & chasseur sauce

Chicken wrapped in bacon & stilton etc.

%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

For the children we would do something completely different if required and price wise you would be looking at £4.95 for example

Homemade chicken goujons, wedges and baked beans

Sausage, mash & peas

Chocolate brownie & ice cream.

You also have the menus from past moody owners functions to look at. If you can decide what sort of meat main dish you would like and how many courses I can come up with more choices. I can guarantee that whatever you decide will be cheaper than £20 per person.

I vote that Jim gets to make the choice as he is a man of impeccable taste.
The roast beef sound good but most of the items sound o.k.
Just make sure that there is some good meat involved.
Not into fish myself.

Option 1 gives the best mix and value but also gives them the chance to cater well for most tastes

Not able to attend but it's the one I would go for at this meeting, and saves Jim too much work too

Mixed options make it harder to cater individually, at the quality level I think they're aiming at, and makes it easier for Jim to organise

Oops, I said the 'O' word on the ECF

whatever!
Too much choice!

I'll be happy with whatever people want, but my preference is the first option and my least preferred option is the bbq.

+5

and the bad news is that it now looks 90%+ likely that I'll be able to make it, almost certainly on my own and probably by car (any offers of somewhere to lay my weary overnight will be gratefuilly received!

Brigantia will (hopefully) be back in the water that weekend but probably not until the day before and I've still got heaps to do when she's afloat before I'll be ready to go a-voyaging. Blurry weather :(

Thanks oyu all.
I will inform the caterers and post up for your choices please.

Looking forward to seeing you all again, after my enforced absence last year.:)
