Just seen one HERE and more details on this site HERE

I have to say that a few things do not get better with age like the caravan style fit out of the cabin and the Great galley upstairs which has the dangerous work top square corner.

However I look forward to the newer ones getting to the market as the Manufactureres Website show a lot of new Pictures... Here

A real shame they did not fully sort out the accomodation as from what Jez said the handling of them looked great (as seen on Go West).

Interestingly they also changed the Layout of the W24 to the 25 Family seen HERE which looks more traditional.

I reckon in 5 Years they will have the quality designed product they deserve! Mind you still would not Pay £146k for that W34....

That is a racey price for a second hand single engined boat. Imagine what you could get in the Windy range second hand for that amount of moola

Me thinks these will depreciate faster than a falling piano especially as the brand is unknown.

ah, ahem. Yes, the W34. Great hull, infact its a bloody blinding hull, but some aspects of it have been badly thought through. I tried very hard to help them with this and they were getting there before we fell out.

They do alot well, especially detailing on the helm, their stainless steel work is up there with the best (you can see that even on my 24) and they have lots of good ideas. Layout wise, ok its not traditional but at least they have tried to do aomething different. The early boats with the blond wood and no detail looked fecking aweful, but the later ones with a darker wood and brown/cream soft finishes looks much much better and does work.

£146k is expensive for that boat, as it is one of the early ones with the D6 310. Suprisingly a good engine option and will do low 30s in terms of speed and is very very efficient. D6-330hp is better now, ideal engine is the D6-370. Reckon that boat is probably a 2007, and I reckon he's asking more than he paid.

in 2007, I could retail a single engine W34 for £125k all in inc VAT and make a profit, if not a massive one. By the time the euro slid that would have risen to about £150k, which was comparible with an S/SC29 at the time.

They have some new people in place which *may* help them, but their attitude to dealers is pretty appaling (they have now also lost their initial Swedish and Norwegen dealers as well) and if its the same with customers I suspect they might not see out the current recession.

Which, despite everything, would be a shame. they are still young and leaning and the W25 family (no bigger than the 24, the hull and deck moulds are the same) is a good step forward, though I struggle to see how they have got proper seating headroom below, and if that is indicitive of where they are going they may be ok.

New interior finish is certainly an improvement. The old one looked like it was designed and fitted by Hagar the Horrible after a few too many Skols! :-)

Thanks Jez for the update.

I remember Roger saying how good the handling was as well. Not surprised they lost other dealers, I still like the W34 concept, just down to final finish and interior design!

BTW, How fast will Go West do on a clean bum?

Cheers

The best I had solo in 2007 with a rough bum was 42knts on the GPS. Tide was neutral and the day was flatter that a flat thing.

I reckon light, with a perfectly calm day and the silky smooth bottom she now has she could probably see 44 with a bit of luck, perfect trim and a following breeze.
