Proposals by David Cameron, George Osborne and Chloe Smith relate to abandoning all future maintenance for locks and weirs on the Thames for a trial 10 year period. We know there is a water shortage but the Government seem hell bent on following any policy for further cost cutting. The topic is rumoured to be up for discussion with the European Minister Loof Lirpa, the Swedish delegate for European rivers who has stated that there is little point in continued investment for many European rivers as global climatic changes will result in many drying up within a few years The Environment Agency have yet to comment.

I understand the Belgian finance minister Mme Avril Poisson has also called for the banning of Red diesel on the Thames as it comes within the 200 mile limit.

Sorry,simply cannot believe a word on the Thames forum since I heard that all boaters had agreed to form an orderly Q at locks,move up and make space for people behind and not to try to over take everything and anything in front of them before reaching next lock ?
