Belay there - ye scurvy dogs

Longjohn - you must have some strawbales to shift and Para - is this how you're looking after my pension?
Claymore is not for sale - and if she was ye'd need to find a deal more than £24K.
What really interests me is that LongJohn is looking at adverts for a Claymore - could it be that the 7ft garden gnome is actually developing some sense and looking for a proper boat?

I\'ve lost it

In giving the Hon. Mr Silver and Para the scurvy dogs treatment, I thought it was LJSadler who wrote this - hence references to 7ft garden gnomes - I am, of course, dead when he reads it.
I'm going to lie down now and do my breathing exercises and hope I get better.
Old pirateparrot features would look well in a Claymore - even better with one shoved where the sun don't shine.

To err is human

To forgive is divine.
Unfortunately divinity was never my strongest subject, so a letter from my legal team at the Dunfanaghy branch of Fortescue Wilkinson and Neecapper ('Solicitors, Commissioners for Oaths, Dry Cleaning Agents') is already on its way.
Actually I was thinking of changing my name to avoid the confusion. Ken has already suggested Extralongjohnsadler. Or perhaps Sevenfootgardengnomejohnsadler?

Re: how tall are the Longjohns?

claymore is def in double trouble - i'm six foot and ljsilver is quite towering to me. His 18 year old son is taller than me too, and i expect he won't take kindly to claymore's sense of humour either.

Re: how tall are the Longjohns?

I'm 6'2" - unless I've been suspended upside down for 20 minutes - and my son who's 19 is 6'4".
Perhaps LJSilver and I should turn up together at the door of Claymore Towers one dark night. You can just picture the scene...howling wind, lightning, Dear Heart rushing in to the sitting room, "We're doomed! There's a pair of Longjohns outside...."

Re: how tall are the Longjohns?

Well I'm 6' 4" and as tcm rightlt says no1 brat is as tall as me and 16 yr old no2 brat is even taller than us both, so the both the LJS clans should really give them something to think about! Two pairs of longjohns!!

And don't forget this LJS was here first!!!

And no dear ancient mariner letch, I don't want a boat with all the worst qualities of a brick, go find yerself a proper motorboat and put those sheets back on the bed.

Re: Woops

Interesting conclusion was

<<The master was inexperienced in handling Claymore, which had a large “sail area" forward, and might have felt pressured into trying to berth the vessel.>>

Mmmm .. now why does Oban leap to mind?

<hr width=100% size=1>.. when's that again, but ..

Re: Woops

Oban probably springs tae mind because of yer Jonathan Edwards routine. Ah wiz jes sayin tae Para - noo cop fer this shipmate - sec is ma mastery o these sitchyitshins tha' all ah need tae dae is sit here an let ra wind an tide dae ra wairk - ony inexperienced crew micht think o takin a leap....the wairds had barely gone frae ma mooth when the pair us wiz treated tae the sicht o yer great hairy airse in orbit. Ye wiz in the air sae lang that we'd time tae call all ships on 16 and get a bookd stairted (all proceeds tae the Oban Lifeboat, naturally) The landin was a delight tae see an ah've hed phone call frae Torvill an Dean oan the subject ever since.

Ra truth comes oot

OCh ma reecolleckshun wiz zat ra wind and tide wur heidindg us aff tae Rockall rather than taewordz ra intended landing. It wiz ra look o' despair on yer honest homely features that inspired ra' leap .. parteecularly when ra immortal wordz "Dear Heart usually drives!" emerged from yer clenched teeth!
