The Elephant Boatyard in the FT

December 1987, I was 16 years old, had a few pints in the pub next door, back then you walked along the wall to your moored boat, a Westerly Fulmar, on the Elephant pontoons, used the little tub on a rope to get over to the boats.

Blind drunk, bloody good luck I didn't drown or die of exposure. Sick all over the cabin floor.

As the old saying goes "God takes care of stray dogs and drunken sailors".
